Day 1: Overnight Flight

Day 2: Rio de Janeiro, Brazil - Tour Begins
Welcome to Rio de Janeiro! Magnificent views, beautiful beaches, flamboyant Carnival costumes, great cuisine and friendly people make Rio the cultural capital of Brazil. Witness the transformation taking place as Rio prepares to host the 2016 Summer Olympics. Stroll down the beach of the "Girl from Ipanema" and see lovely Flamengo Park. Take a cable car ride to the top of Sugarloaf for mesmerizing views of the coastline and rolling forest. Tonight, learn how to craft caiprinihas – Brazil’s famous cocktail made with sugar cane liquor and lime. Follow this with a special welcome dinner.

Day 3: Rio de Janeiro
Experience the enchanting “Marvelous City” your way with a full day at leisure to explore or simply soak up the sun. Tonight, hear for yourself why Rio, the birthplace of the Bossa Nova, is hailed as one of the world’s music capitals with an exciting optional night on the town.

Day 4: Rio de Janeiro
The morning is yours to enjoy the energy of Rio. This afternoon, ascend Corcovado by train to Christ the Redeemer, one of the largest Art Deco statues in the world. Enjoy panoramic vistas of Tijuca Forest National Park and the city below. View Maracanã Football Stadium – host to soccer’s 2014 World Cup – and the enchanting Botanical Gardens. This evening, indulge in a “Churrascaria” feast of marinated and barbecued meats.

Day 5: Rio de Janeiro - Iguazu Falls
Fly to Iguazu Falls, located at the crossroads of Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay and heralded as the most beautiful waterfall in the world. Enjoy a walking tour of the Brazilian side of Iguazu Falls. This afternoon choose an optional jungle boat ride at the base of the falls or relax at your resort. Unwind at dinner in this tranquil setting.

Day 6: Iguazu Falls
Board the Rainforest Ecological Train inside the national park on the Argentine side and walk to the platform overlooking powerful Devil’s Throat. Discover unparalleled views of five waterfalls as they plummet into the Iguazu River. The remainder of the day is yours to explore these spectacular surroundings.

Day 7: Iguazu Falls - Mendoza, Argentina
Journey to the land of sol y vino – sun and wine – Argentina’s wine country, where vineyards and olive groves flourish. Mendoza produces 70% of Argentina’s grapes and wines, with a viniculture history dating back to the 16th century. The Malbec grape has made Argentine wine cherished around the world. A vast network of Incan aqueducts and dykes makes the most of the annual six inches of rain to transform the city into an oasis. Settle into your hotel after dinner.

Day 8: Mendoza
Tour the serene city of Mendoza and see the vast Parque General San Martín and the lively central Plaza Independencia. Indulge in a sample of the local Italian-inspired ice cream with a Mendocino twist, such as vanilla with Malbec or peach with Syrah! There are said to be over 1,000 wineries (“bodegas”) in the fertile Maipú, Luján de Cuyo and Uco valleys. Revel in visits to three wineries on the wine route and enjoy a gourmet wine pairing lunch and ample opportunities to sample the bounty of the Argentine vineyards.

Day 9: Mendoza - Buenos Aires
Fly to Buenos Aires, birthplace of the tango. Stretching along the banks of the Rio de la Plata, the “Paris of South America” is a mosaic of European-styled architecture and South American spirit. Enjoy a tour of the capital. See the lavish Teatro Colon opera house, the Avenida 9 de Julio; Recoleta Cemetery, where Evita Peron rests; the Presidential Palace, the Casa Rosada; the colorful La Boca neighborhood, and the historic San Telmo barrio. Later, stroll through San Martin Park or Calle de Florida, a shopper’s paradise. Tonight, enjoy an interactive presentation from a local resident where you can ask questions about daily life in Buenos Aires. A reception follows.

Day 10: Buenos Aires
Today is yours to explore the cultural delights of Buenos Aires. Visit a local market, art museum or spend the afternoon at an elegant sidewalk café. Or perhaps choose to cross the Argentine Pampas to experience the culture of Argentina’s gauchos at a typical estancia and enjoy a hearty asado lunch – a typical Argentine barbeque. This evening, savor typical Argentine cuisine and wine before embracing the art of the dance that has made Buenos Aires famous – a stunning tango performance. You can even try some of your own steps during an included tango lesson!

Day 11: Buenos Aires - Tour Ends
Transfer to the airport for your flight home.
