Day 1 - Manaus
Surrounded by 1,000 miles of Amazon rainforest in every direction, Manaus captures the spirit of a true frontier town - blended with a colorful past when turn-of-the-century rubber barons made their fortunes and commissioned ornate buildings like the Amazon Theater and the Customs House. Upon arrival, check-in to your deluxe hotel in the very heart of this one-of-a-kind town.Tropical Business Hotel, deluxe Day 2 - Amazon Cruise / Embarkation This morning, you’ll board your choice of cruise ship. Relax with a welcome drink during an onboard briefing as your ship sails up the Ariau River. After dinner, a twilight canoe safari reveals the nocturnal sounds and wildlife of the forest. – Meals B,L,D Amazon Clipper, Clipper Premium or Iberostar Day 3 - Amazon Cruising Today’s expeditions include a guided rainforest walk and a visit with a Caboclo family. Later, your ship sails through the 400 islands of Anavilhanas, the world’s largest freshwater archipelago. Meals B,L,D Day 4 - Amazon Cruising Alight in the isolated village of Novo Airao and visit the local market and boat yards, where river vessels are handcrafted. In the afternoon, canoe on Lake Acajatuba to view the unique flora and fish for piranhas. Meals B,L,D Day 5 - Amazon / Manaus Disembarkation An early morning canoe excursion on Lake January is a great chance to spot many types of birds as you glide silently through the giant water lilies. On the return to Manaus, you’ll cruise the amazing Meeting of the Waters, where the black currents of the Rio Negro join the brown waters of the Amazon and flow together for miles without mixing. Disembark in Manaus and enjoy a private city tour before checking-in to your deluxe hotel.– Meals B,LTropical Business Hotel Day 6 - Manaus / Rio de Janeiro Fly to Rio and transfer to your deluxe hotel overlooking world-famous Copacabana Beach. – Meals B Sofitel Day 7 - A FreeStyle Day in Rio Customize your vacation with the included tours of your choice: • Sugarloaf: Ascend Sugar Loaf Mountain by cable car from Red Beach. From the summit, the crescent of Atlantic beaches comes fully into view and the city is spread before you. • Mt. Corcovado: Over Rio, the statue of Christ the Redeemer – arms spread – protects the city below. Ascend 2,400 feet by train to the top of Mt. Corcovado to visit this imposing 100-foot tall landmark and enjoy 360˚ views of the city. Both tours then continue as you wish, either to the botanical garden, a museum or a guided shopping tour. Meals B Day 8 - Rio de Janeiro Enjoy a full day free to relax or explore at your own pace.
